The Loire Valley, in west central France, takes its name from the Loire River which flows across it for about 350 miles.
It is one of France's most beautiful garden spots and the wines reflect the mood of the countryside, charming, light, fragrant and refreshing.
Although the Loire Valley yields the greatest diversity of wine styles than any region in France, the region and the wines are easy to understand and appreciate.
The wines are rarely surrounded by the mystery and legends of their complexities and the land has not been dissected into micro climates.
